Performance The 2001 Spirit is medium weight (620 lbs. dry), combined with 32 degrees of rake and new re-designed 303 stainless steel handlebars, gives riders superior handling and comfort while suiting a broad range of riders. Inside the chassis, the Super Stock 45 Degree V-Twin 4-cycle engine has an 88 cubic inch/1442 cc displacement yielding powerful horsepower and torque. The 3 5/8" bore with a 41/4" stroke results in quick revving and less vibration. The transmission offers precise foot shifting, with a constant mesh 5-speed. The primary drive, connecting the motor and transmission, is a wet clutch with chain drive. The final drive is via belt, providing a long service life due to a smooth, clean vibration free ride. In addition, a 2 into 1 exhaust system optimizes emission efficiency. For increased durability, the oil tank (3.0 quarts/ 2.8 liters with filter capacity) is stainless steel.
