Chicago, IL - Eight aldermen of the Chicago lakefront area are proposing an 11 pm to 6 am ban on motorcycles on Lake Shore Drive. This proposal could jeopardize federal highway funding because ``no state or political subdivision may enact or enforce a law that applies only to motorcycles'' on roads or highways where federal money has been used. Supporters state that safety issues may be a way around the law. The idea has ``no support from the mayor's office," according to a mayor's staff member.
