Developed by Aprilia Racing, under the guidance of multi-world champion racer Thierry Van Den Bosch, the SXV 5.5 is a genuine competition motorcycle and an ideal choice for a seasoned rider. The 77-degree angle twin delivers far less vibration than any single while putting out superb torque and a generous useful power band despite being more compact than most single-cylinder engines. Abundant use has been made of prestige lightweight materials, such as aluminum silicon alloy crankcase sections, magnesium external engine casings and titanium valves. Weight has been optimized everywhere, right down to the wave discs.
